Tax Deductible Contributions
Let's create a Park together. . .
To most people, Parks mean land. A place to picnic, to play, to relax. A place where
there are trees. Lots and lots of trees!
A place where the occasional rabbit or deer,
for instance, happens to venture within sight of visitors. Parks mean a playground, a
baseball field. . . and maybe a little fishing.

We can do it with a little practice. . .
Parks mean different things to different people. But how does a park become a park?
Do we simply find a piece of land that fits the many aspects of being a park, and then
treat it as a park. . . using squatters' rights?
Parklands are not like the traditional vacant lot that was used for baseball by the
neighborhood kids. Even kids know the game is over when the lot is sold.
But there are options to consider, too. . .
Parks are generally properties which have been acquired by the park district.
Individuals who help create parks contribute for many reasons, and in many ways.
A charitable remainder trust is one way, a gift through one's will is another; and
there are more solutions which are too lengthy to discuss here. Future generations
benefit from this generosity when "greenspace" as we know it is preserved in parklands.
Did you know that your "estate" can provide for you
during your lifetime and become a park legacy later? And are you aware of the different
options and tax benefits?
So there we are, folks. Parks don't just drop out of the sky. They need to be acquired.
In many cases, acre by acre and parcel by parcel. Often a pretty long process!

sharing in a park legacy. . . because the future is Here and Now.
