The Grand Lakes

Queen Lake & Prince Lake

The Grand Lakes area south of Dorset, Ohio takes its name from Prince Lake and Queen Lake, which are surrounded by about 240 acres of undeveloped open land, forested land, and wetlands. Queen Lake and Prince Lake are located near Mells Road, east of SR 193.

In recent years, we acquired several parcels of land in the Grand Lakes area through the generosity of many individuals. Several parcels of land don't sound like much, but little things add up; the Ashtabula County Metroparks now owns about 350 parcels in the Grand Lakes area. Our hope is to eventually reserve the area for primitive camping.

Many land owners have discovered that donating their Grand Lakes holdings to the Ashtabula County Metroparks benefits themselves and future generations. In addition, it gives us the opportunity to preserve the rural nature of Ashtabula County.

Click on "Tax Deductible Contributions" for more information about ways you can benefit both yourself and future generations.
