Ashtabula County Parks Foundation
The Ashtabula County Parks Foundation was incorporated under the State of Ohio on
November 1st, 1995 and granted 501(c)(3)
tax exempt status by the IRS in June, 1996.
As a result, the
Ashtabula County Parks Foundation may receive contributions of cash and/or
property that the donor(s) may, under specific provisions of the Internal
Revenue Code, write off as tax-deductible donations.
The contributions, of course,
will be earmarked for specific projects that will enhance the county's metroparks.
A major grant, which will be disbursed by the Ashtabula County Parks Foundation, has been
awarded to the Ashtabula County Metroparks District by the local
Ashtabula Foundation. The grant consists of three annual installments of
$65,000 for continued development of the county metroparks district, but may not be used to
fund a levy. That said, the grant is a welcome pro-active commitment by one of our major
local foundations.

This is a good a place to mention the groups named "Friends of the Parks" and
"Friends of the Western Reserve Greenway." Both promote a lot of public
awareness and community involvement in our Ashtabula County Metroparks District and The
Western Reserve Greenway. This often boils down to the simple "grunt" work of
volunteerism. Here's your opportunity to get a taste of it.
